Three years ago we took part in the 24 hour zine challenge. The concept is that you have 24 hours to create a 24 page zine from start to finish! It sounds like it would be easy, but trust me it wasn’t. That became issue 18 of Lights Go Out.
So why we have stupidly signed up to do the 24 hour zine challenge again this year means I must be a real glutton for punishment. Anyways this coming Friday, June 10th we’re taking on the mission of creating issue 34 of Lights Go Out in a 24 hour window!
Luckily we’ve managed to rope some rather lovely people in to help us on the day and I really think it could be possible and hopefully without too much stress coming our way. If you’d like to get involved please do drop us a line on Facebook as we’re pretty much going to be using that for everything on the day content wise. Conducting real time interviews with bands/people/whoever we can rope in to get involved whilst reviewing music, working on columns and everything else. I really hope this won’t be like last time out when I spent something like 3 pages doing a real time movie review of the Hugh Jackman movie, “Real Steel”. I’d like to keep this as true to the Lights Go Out format as I can…fingers crossed.
Also, this one won’t be printed by our normal printer due to the time constraints. I’ll be photocopying it myself and putting it all together by hand. Just hope my stapler holds up to the task now. It will be a limited edition, maybe 50 copies, maybe less, we’ll see how it goes on the day really. So please drop us a line if you fancy getting involved and helping with our damn stupidity!
