    Issue 97 – released today!

Issue 97 of Lights Go Out is officially released today!

Another 20 page zine rammed with loads of stuff for you to read.  This time out we’ve gone along the lines of a movie special, Lights Go Out @ the Movies!

There’s features from various contributors writing about movies.  From classic horror like Halloween, to Police Academy, to obscure low budget monster flicks, classic sci-fi, Cars 3, Godzilla vs. Kong, Studio Ghibli, horror double bills, memories of Blockbuster video and more.

If you like movies then this is the zine for you.  If you prefer our music issues, don’t fret issue 98 is back to the usual music based content, maybe still pick this one up though and have a read anyways.

You can grab the new issue from our store now, here: https://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-97

We’re closing in on that magic number, issue 100!  I’ve teased that we may stop at issue 99 in the past (which is underway), but maybe we will put issue 100 out…

    Rebel Dread!

We’ve just added a movie review to the site!

Rebel Dread is a documentary exploring the life and times of DJ, musician, filmmaker and trailblazer, Don Letts.

Marv checked the movie out and wrote a few words…

Check it out here: REBEL DREAD

In zine news: Issues 97 and 98 are actually both finished.  I need to get them dropped off at the printers sometime this week, so issue 97 will be out very soon for your reading enjoyment.  Issue 99 is underway too… maybe issue 100??!?

We are always up for hearing from anyone who wants to get involved in the zine, drop us a line…. cheers.

    Issue 96 is here!

We are pleased to announce that issue 96 of Lights Go Out is released at the start of next week!

Packed with a feature on some of our favourite music zines, chats with Machine Gun Vendetta and Thee Escapees.  A live review of The Darkness as well as a feature on Britpop faves Shed Seven.  Marv is back with more “at the flicks” and talks La Dolce Vita.  Devin is also back with some more fiction.  Oh and there’s some music reviews thrown in there too.

Still just a quid (plus postage) from our shop here: https://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-96

Issue 97 is pretty much ready to go as well and will be a movie related edition of the zine, back to regular service after that.  Cheers to everyone who does support the zine, it’s much appreciated.

    Issue 95 – Out Jan 2022

Happy festive season, happy new year and all that too.

Issue 95 of Lights Go Out is back from the printers already, yeah we’ve worked hard to make sure we don’t have any festive delays and that the zine will be out as planned in January 2022.  issue 95 features the awesome Bambies – a cracking Canadian punk rock band.  The Downstrokes also feature, a sweet garage rock band from Maryland.  Marv is back once again with “Gadgie @ The Flicks” and this time talks “Somewhere“.  Then we have columns from John D (who has gone above and beyond this issue), Devin and Mr. T.  Add in a few music reviews and once again you have twenty packed pages of music zine goodness, well we like to think so anyways.

If you fancy a copy to read, you can grab one from our store here: https://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-95

Issue 96 is well underway as well.  Issue 97 is also in the works as we’ll be making that issue (March) a movie issue (sorry to those who aren’t fussed by the movie issues, but things have fallen into place for this – also gives us a break from chasing up interviews, which is cool).

As ever, cheers to everyone for supporting Lights Go Out – will we make it to 100 issues?

    Issue 94 – Out Tomorrow!

Hello once again!  It’s December tomorrow, so that means it’s time for a new issue of Lights Go Out!

Issue 94 features a chat with the amazing Diesel Park West, a wonderful band.  Also a chat with The Setbacks.  Marv is back as ever with “Gadgie At The Flicks” and talks about “Corruption“.  There’s a feature on The Charlatans and columns from Emily, Devin, Derek and Mr. T.  Devin also pops in with some more fiction.  We also found a small space for a few reviews as well.

If you fancy grabbing a copy please pick one up from the shop here:  https://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-94

We’ve also reduced all back issues to just 75p each now, so grab a bargain.  I should try the hard sale here and mention how they make great stocking fillers or something…

Issue 95 is almost finished as well, we just need one or two more smaller parts so we can make it happen next year.  Which means we move onto issue 96 – if anyone fancies getting involved, we’d love to hear from ya.  Cheers!
