Great news…issue 33 is released today!!! It’s another dose of the usual Lights Go Out action, you can see what’s inside on the below post and also when you go and order a copy here: http://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-33
Like I always say, we really do appreciate your support of this zine, every single sale helps fund the next issue. We are 100% DIY and most definitely non profit. We do this for love! One quick point we’d like to make as well is when sending stuff in for review, please be patient, we get a LOT of download links to check out and we can’t always download them quickly, so setting expiration dates on stuff means more than likely we’ll miss them. We do have other stuff going on away from the zine, no really we do! So please don’t hassle us and chase us up a couple of days after you send us a review request. The best thing to do is to ask us when a new issue is released if your review is in there….then do us a favour and buy a copy, hell please buy a copy anyways!
We’re already working on future issues, so please do make issue 33 a success and pick up a copy. Also we have a few issues 32 left (not many now), we’d love to see them sell out, so we have reduced the price of them as well in the online store.
London people, we’ll have the zine for sale tomorrow night at the Darko, The Wonder Beers, Second In Line & RxR show at The Black Heart in Camden. Killer line up, come along, enjoy the bands, go home with a zine to read! Event details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1535040053412666/
Seeing as how Summer is nearly here and it is of course raining as we write this, then it’s time to announce some good news to try and brighten your day up a little! So, the good news is that issue 33 of Lights Go Out is finished and has gone to the printers!!!
Starring Pears, Deadcuts, Bombshell Rocks, Long Knives, Smile And Burn, Bottler, King Of Pigs and Better Days. I’m really proud of the new issue with features the usual pages of columns, reviews (music, gig, zine), band profiles from the likes of Tenth Listen and Snake as well!
You can pre order a copy here: http://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-33
We have also reduced the price of issue 32, so feel free to grab that one as well to help us clear some space out. I really like it when issues sell out, I hate having old stock lying about. As always, thanks for supporting the zine, it is very much appreciated and we can’t keep putting the zine out without everyone who helps out writing for us and those of you that pick a copy up. Cheers!
Another snippet of news for the upcoming issue of Lights Go Out – we will feature an amazing band called Long Knives. They have just released a cracking EP called “This Is Your Life” on Count Your Lucky Stars Records. They have a sound not a million miles away from bands like Lemuria. So we grabbed the chance to have a quick chat to them about stuff. You’ll be able to read it in the new issue of the zine and we may even upload it too…
We are working very hard to get the new issue out for the start of July. We have advert space available now if anyone is interested in taking some space in the new issue, then do please get in touch with us. More news on the new issue soon…
We are busy working hard on the new issue of Lights Go Out. Issue 33 will be out next month if all goes to plan. We’re posting a few of the interviews online now for people to read. With this in mind we are really pleased to post an interview with one of the finest rock bands around, Deadcuts! They’re somewhat of a super group and really making waves at the minute, one to keep your eye (and ears) on for sure. I was lucky enough to catch up with Jerome from Deadcuts and have a chat. You can check the interview out here: http://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?p=16252 More news on the next issue soon….stay tuned!
Let’s be honest, we get a LOT of stuff in to review at the zine and 90% of it is standard or shite. But when you get a release through and it just knocks you for six, well that’s one of the most amazing things about writing this zine. St. Louis melodic hardcore punk rock band, Better Days did just that! Their latest EP entitled “Nope” is out now on Encapsulated Records and it’s seriously good. After checking it out I rushed to grab an interview with the band. I’ve posted it online and it’ll also run in issue 33 of the zine (hopefully out end of June).
You really do need to check this band out and of course you can read the interview too!
