First up, site updates. One of our lovely contributors Roya who is based over the pond from us in NYC has had a few busy months it seems and has very kindly sent us over a few live reviews which we’ve gone and posted online today. Admittedly normally we wouldn’t run stuff like Lady Gaga but what the hell. Also Roya‘s Roskilde review is now live too. You can check all the reviews out via the below links:

Issue 35 has been slightly delayed due to holiday and a change of front cover being needed, but I’ll be announcing it hopefully next week. With issue 36 following in October – which will be a “normal” issue of Lights Go Out (if there is such a thing). Do keep an eye on our Facebook page here (www.facebook.com/lightsgooutzine)
Paranoid Visions formed in Dublin in 1982 and have just released quite possibly their strongest album to date “Cryptic Cross Words”. Having just launched this new LP with a performance at the legendary Rebellion Festival I was able to throw some questions the way of guitarist P.A.
The interview is online here and will also run in issue 36 of the zine. That’s right number 36 as number 35 will be out later this month and will be a limited special edition release….

We called the label Almighty Beard Records. The first release is available now – a split 7″ between Volunteers & The Domestics. You can check the label out here: http://www.almightybeard.co.uk/ – The site also houses our little vinyl distro where we’re currently stocking titles from the likes of A Wilhelm Scream, No///se, Iron Chic and loads more! We’re adding new titles as often as we can.
Please check us out and if you fancy picking a record or ten up, please do. All profits are being ploughed straight back into the label and the next release. We have a few things on the cards, exciting times!
You can also do the whole “Like” thing on Facebook where we post updates… https://www.facebook.com/almightybeardrecs
We’re also doing a special – where you can get a little bundle deal for issues 33 + 34 together for a reduced price. That’s right, we’re being generous at the minute, so do please take advantage of this rare moment!
You can pick them up from here: http://www.lightsgoout.co.uk/?product=lights-go-out-issue-33-issue-34-special-offer
Cheers everyone….now to get planning issue 35…..
So last Friday we took on the 24 Hour Zine challenge. To create a 24 page zine in 24 hours from start to finish. Well we completed it and it’ll be officially released later this week. On the day we were able to have chats with Greyface, We Come First, RXR, Demon Smiles, Nailhouse and Resuscitators.
Inside there are also a few columns, a couple of articles and some reviews. 24 pages of pretty much the normal Lights Go Out content. Huge thanks have to go to the legend that is Russell Taysom for drawing an amazing front cover for this issue as well, really appreciated. Also, thanks to everyone who helped out on the day to make this issue happen. We last did this in 2012…maybe we’ll do it again in another three years if I can forgot the levels of stress it brings!
You’ll be able to order it on this site soon – limited to just 50 copies, hand numbered. But do please pick up issue 33 (out now) which is a “proper” issue of Lights Go Out…
